Pike’s Peak Church of Christ  has one of the longest heritages of any church building in Brown County, having been in existence since the 1850’s and meeting for the first time in this building in the fall of 1891.  However, more important than the building is the fact that the church is made up of members who want to simply be Christians, followers of Christ and nothing more.

We believe in the necessity of having authority for everything we do-we call that having book, chapter and verse for all that we do in religious matters (1 Pet. 4:11; Phil. 3:16; Jude 3; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3).  Therefore, we reject all human creeds (Gal. 1:8-9; Rev. 22:18-19).

What to expect

A congregation that assembles to worship God through Jesus Christ His Son just as the first century disciples.  This worship consists of studying the Holy scriptures, praying, singing, observing the Lord’s supper every first day of the week, and giving of our means. (John 4: 24, 2 Tim. 2:15, 1 Tim. 2:8, Eph. 5:19, Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 16: 1-2).  Since Jesus declared, “Upon this rock I will build my Church” (Mt. 16:18), churches of Christ are identified as belonging to Him (Rom. 16:16).  In these churches, you will hear everyone entreated to obey the Lord’s commands, namely

BELIEVE in Christ (John 8:24)

REPENT of sins (Luke 13:3)

CONFESS Christ (Mt. 10:32) and be

BAPTIZED in Christ (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 1 Pet. 3:21, Gal. 3:26-27),

in order to become a Christian, a member of the Lord’s Church.

After becoming a Christian, these disciples are then urged to continue faithfully in worshipping and serving the Lord as the New Testament directs.  If you are interested in a return to the original pattern of Christianity as revealed in the New Testament, you ar invited to worship with us.
